Kazakhstan is ready to supply grain, flour and vegetable oils to Georgia 27.01.2025 в 14:02 53 просмотра

Kazakhstan is interested in establishing exports of various goods to Georgia, including grain, flour, vegetable oils, meat and dairy products. This was stated by the Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Amangaliy Berdalin during a working visit to Georgia.

He held a meeting with the Vice Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Apollon Kakabadze. The meeting focused on issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture.

According to A. Berdalin, interaction between Kazakhstan and Georgia in the agricultural sector is a priority in relations between the two countries. The dynamics of trade in agricultural products demonstrate positive growth: in the first 11 months of 2024, Kazakhstan's trade turnover with Georgia amounted to $65.4 million, which is 11.1% more than in the same period of 2023. At the same time, exports from Kazakhstan increased by 28.2%.

During the meeting, forms of veterinary certificates for breeding, consumer and slaughter cattle were signed, which creates favorable conditions for expanding trade cooperation. In particular, the high cost of meat products in Georgia opens up new opportunities for exporting products of Kazakh agricultural producers.

In addition, the Kazakh side proposed to intensify cooperation within the framework of the memorandum of understanding between the departments, which will improve interaction in the field of animal husbandry, crop production, food and feed safety, veterinary medicine and processing of agricultural products.

To date, Georgia is not among the active importers of Kazakh agricultural products. As APK-Inform clarifies with reference to official statistics, in recent seasons in this direction there have been small and irregular shipments of Kazakh rice (for example, in 2024 - only 68 tons), as well as periodic shipments of small volumes of lentils (for the whole of 2024 - 330 tons) and margarine products (for the past year - only 32 tons).
