Applications from wheat exporters for payment of transport subsidies have reached the threshold of allocated budget funds. Payments will be made as funding is received from the republican budget, in the order of the registered requests. This was reported by the press service of the Food Corporation.
To date, as part of the program for reimbursement of transportation costs for grain exports, the Food Corporation has financed the transportation of 320 thousand tons of wheat. Suppliers have been paid 7.2 billion tenge.
"According to customs statistics, wheat shipments to subsidized destinations are being carried out in a stable mode," the Food Corporation noted.
The program to support grain producers provides for partial subsidization of wheat transportation along transit routes to the ports of the Azov, Black and Baltic Seas, to Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. Suppliers who send grain in transit through China to the countries of Southeast Asia also receive payments from the state.
The amount of compensation ranges from 20 to 30 thousand tenge per ton of wheat, depending on the export destination. The measure is aimed at expanding access of Kazakhstani wheat to global markets, including countries in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.
Recall that the government planned to allocate up to 40 billion tenge in 2025 for the payment of transport subsidies to facilitate the export of 2 million tons of wheat to new markets.
