Kazakhstan maintains satisfactory conditions for wintering winter crops 22.01.2025 в 15:31 48 просмотров

In the first ten days of January, the agrometeorological conditions in the south and southeast of Kazakhstan for wintering of winter wheat were quite satisfactory. Low air and soil temperatures dangerous for wintering crops were not observed. This was reported by Kazhydromet in a ten-day review.

As specified, in the southeast of the republic in the areas of cultivation of winter crops, the temperature background was mainly above the norm by 1...4ºС, in the south - below the norm by 1...2ºС, precipitation was mainly less than the norm, only in the Almaty region was it more than the norm. Winter grain crops were still in a state of winter dormancy during this period.

In the observed areas of the Almaty region and Zhetisu region, the minimum air temperature dropped to minus 15...20ºС and the minimum soil temperature at a depth (3 cm) of the tillering node of winter wheat dropped to minus 4ºС. The soil froze to a depth of 24 cm to 52 cm. In the Almaty region, in areas where winter grain crops are grown, there was heavy precipitation, as a result of which the snow cover increased to 28 cm; in the Zhetisu region, the snow cover at the end of the ten-day period was 22-29 cm.

In areas where winter grain crops are grown, the average air temperature was minus 1…4ºС, which is 1…2ºС below normal in the Turkestan region and 2…4ºС above normal in the Zhambyl region. The minimum air temperature dropped to minus 8…12ºС (in some places minus 17°С) and the minimum temperature at the depth (3 cm) of the tillering node of winter wheat dropped to minus 3…9°С. The snow depth varied from 2 cm to 7 cm, in the vicinity of the Tasaryk meteorological station in the Turkestan region - 16 cm. In areas where the snow depth is less than 5 cm, and frequent thaws (4-7 days) were observed, a decrease in the winter hardiness of underdeveloped winter wheat crops is possible. In most areas in the Zhambyl region, the soil froze to a depth of 7-16 cm to 27-32 cm, in the south the soil was almost thawed, only in the vicinity of the Shymkent meteorological station the soil froze to 12 cm and near the Kazygurt meteorological station 4 cm.
