To ensure a stable winter-shelter period and build up reserve stocks, JSC Food Contract Corporation has established a forage fund of 201,300 tons of grain. If necessary, this reserve will be used to provide agricultural producers with feed, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to current data from regional akimats, by the end of last week, agricultural producers had already procured 27.9 million tons of all types of feed, which is approximately 67% of the planned volume for the upcoming winter-shelter period. This includes 22.8 million tons of hay, or 89% of the plan, 2.1 million tons of haylage (90%), 1 million tons of concentrated feed, 446,200 tons of silage, and 1.5 million tons of straw.
The forage procurement campaign continues in all regions of the country.
