Forecasters have released a weather forecast for Kazakhstan for the next three days. It predicts a long-awaited drop in heat and heavy rainfall across the country on August 18, 19, and 20, 2026. Moreover, an abnormally high temperature of +41°C is predicted for one region of the republic, reports Zakon.kz.
The forecast also states that precipitation-free weather is expected only in the south of Kazakhstan.
"With the passage of atmospheric fronts, rain with thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail are forecast across most of Kazakhstan... Fog is expected overnight and in the morning in the north, east, and center of the country. Heavy rain is expected on August 19-20 in the northern regions, and on August 20 in central Kazakhstan." According to the forecast, daytime temperatures are expected to drop to:
- in the northern regions to +17 to +22°C,
- in the central and eastern regions to +18 to +30°C.
Daytime temperatures are also expected to be:
- in the Aktobe region – +27 to +35°C,
- in the Kostanay region – +20 to +30°C,
- in the south of Kazakhstan – +30 to +37°C,
- in the southeast of the republic – +28 to +35°C.
Earlier, specialists from the Kazhydromet State Enterprise released a weather bulletin for September 2026. It indicated that above-normal precipitation is forecast in nine regions of Kazakhstan, and temperatures are expected to be 1°C above normal in three regions. Frosts of -6°C are also expected in 13 regions of Kazakhstan.
