The sixth meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on Ensuring the Reliability of Agricultural Statistics and Preventing Violations in the Payment of State Subsidies was held at the S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University.
Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Bureau of National Statistics, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC NC Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary, the Association of Agricultural Producers, the Supreme Agricultural Academy, the Committee for National Security, JSC Research Institute Baiterek, and the scientific community participated in the meeting.
Vice Minister of Agriculture Amangaliy Berdalin emphasized the strategic importance of data cleansing, recalling that the joint audit in 2024, initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture, allowed for the exclusion of 2 million head of cattle, 3.2 million head of sheep and goats, 3 million tons of milk, 1.7 million tons of potatoes, and over 300,000 tons of onions.
"Ensuring the reliability of statistical data in agriculture is a key task, as state planning and forecasting of the industry's development directly depend on the quality of statistical information," emphasized Amangaliy Berdalin.
He noted the need to transition to systemic accounting through the integration of IT systems and interdepartmental exchange.
Following the meeting, a decision was made to expand the list of crops monitored by satellites, to involve AI in collaboration with scientists from the S. Seifullin Kazan Institute of Agricultural Sciences, and to utilize remote sensing data for agricultural insurance and subsidy monitoring.
