99% of grain and oilseed crops are in good to satisfactory condition.
The Ministry of Agriculture held a meeting to discuss preparations for the upcoming harvest. Minister Aidarbek Saparov instructed that grain elevators be prepared in a timely manner to receive the new crop, APK News reports.

"Particular emphasis was placed on preparing for the harvest and ensuring the smooth operation of grain receiving infrastructure," the Ministry of Agriculture reported.

They noted that the country's total grain storage capacity is 30.7 million tons, which allows for the expected harvest volume.

"The minister instructed that the workload at grain elevators be reduced and, if necessary, grain transportation to the southern regions of the country be organized to free up capacity for receiving the new harvest," the ministry emphasized.

According to agrometeorological monitoring, despite the uneven weather conditions, productive moisture reserves in most agricultural regions remain at optimal and satisfactory levels.

"More than 99% of grain and oilseed crops are in good or satisfactory condition, creating favorable conditions for a high-quality harvest," the Ministry of Agriculture noted.

Winter crop harvesting has already begun in the southern and western regions. To date, 635,800 tons of grain have been harvested. The average yield is 20.6 centners per hectare.

The meeting also discussed crop production development for the first half of 2026. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Azat Sultanov reported that the systematic diversification of cropland with a shift toward more profitable crops is continuing. Thus, the area under oilseed crops has reached a historic high of 4.3 million hectares, while forage crops have expanded to 3.3 million hectares, and corn to 253,400 hectares. At the same time, the wheat area has been reduced by 125,000 hectares, and in the southern regions, the area of traditionally irrigated rice and cotton has been optimized.
Over the past three years, the share of grain crops in the cropping structure has decreased from 73% to 66%, while the share of oilseeds has increased to 18%. The most significant results have been achieved in the country's main grain-growing regions.
