The grain harvesting campaign has begun in Kazakhstan, according to the APK News agency.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, farmers in the Almaty, West Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, North Kazakhstan, Turkestan, Zhetisu regions, and the city of Shymkent have begun harvesting.
According to preliminary results, agricultural producers are demonstrating a rapid harvesting pace and a significant increase in yields compared to the same period last year.
To date, 634,000 tons of grain have been harvested. The average yield is 20.6 centners per hectare, almost 1.7 times higher than the same period last year (12.2 centners per hectare).
Positive trends are also observed for major agricultural crops. For example, the gross wheat harvest reached 461,200 tons with an average yield of 19.1 centners per hectare. By comparison, the yield on the same date last year was 13.7 centners per hectare.
The barley harvest has also demonstrated strong results. To date, 157,800 tons of the crop have been harvested. The average yield is 17.0 centners per hectare, almost double last year's figure (8.7 centners per hectare).
Farmers are fully equipped with the necessary agricultural machinery for the harvest. Agricultural enterprises across the country operate 133,900 tractors, approximately 5,600 high-performance seeding complexes, 71,400 seeders, and 188,500 tillage implements.
To ensure the timely completion of the harvest, the state has allocated approximately 401,000 tons of subsidized diesel fuel.
