Starting July 27, Kazakhstan will impose a ban on the import of wheat from EAEU countries and other countries by road, water, and rail, according to APK News.

Wheat will be allowed to be imported by rail by poultry and grain processing plants, licensed elevators, and the Food Corporation. Grain imported for poultry and grain processing plants will not be sold in Kazakhstan or abroad.

The ban will not affect rail transit or grain transportation between EAEU countries through Kazakhstan.

Specifically, the document states:
It is ordered:
1. To impose a six-month ban on the import of wheat (Eurasian Economic Union Commodity Nomenclature for Foreign Economic Activity Code: 1001) into the Republic of Kazakhstan from third countries and from countries of the Eurasian Economic Union by road, water, and rail, with the exception of wheat imported by rail to poultry and grain processing enterprises, licensed elevators, and the joint-stock company National Company Food Contract Corporation.

2. Wheat imported to poultry and grain processing enterprises is not subject to sale on domestic or foreign markets.
The ban established by paragraph 1 of this order does not apply to wheat imported into the Republic of Kazakhstan via rail transit, nor to its movement from one Eurasian Economic Union member state to another Eurasian Economic Union member state through the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This order shall enter into force ten calendar days after its first official publication.
