Spring field work continues in Kazakhstan's regions. According to current data from regional akimats, agricultural crops have been sown on 8.9 million hectares to date, the APK News agency reports, citing the Ministry of Agriculture's press service.
Grains are planted on 5.5 million hectares,
oilseeds on 2.3 million hectares,
forage crops on 642,000 hectares,
cotton on 166,000 hectares,
vegetables on 102,000 hectares,
melons on 77,000 hectares,
potatoes on 93,000 hectares, and sugar beets on 22,000 hectares.
In the main grain-growing regions, the sowing campaign is in its active phase. In Akmola Oblast, 2 million hectares have been sown, and in Kostanay and North Kazakhstan Oblasts, 1.3 million hectares each.
The southern and southeastern regions are demonstrating high progress, with the all-season sowing campaign nearing completion. In the Zhambyl region, work is 98.1% complete, in Zhetisu, 97.5% complete, and in the Almaty region, sowing is 96.1%.
Across the country, agricultural enterprises operate 133,900 tractors, approximately 5,600 high-performance seeding units, 71,400 seeders, and 188,500 tillage implements. Seventy service centers provide uninterrupted technical support to farmers.
Providing agricultural producers with mineral fertilizers remains a key focus in preparing for and conducting the sowing campaign.
The fertilizer application plan for 2026 is 2.3 million tons. According to current data from akimats, contracts for the supply of 1.4 million tons of fertilizer have been signed to date, and 1.2 million tons have been shipped.
To improve the affordability of fertilizers for farmers, 56.3 billion tenge has been allocated in local regional budgets for 2026 to subsidize fertilizer costs.
