In September 2025, the QazTrade Center and the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at promoting Kazakhstani products to the markets of the 57 member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The development of these agreements was discussed at a roundtable in Astana, timed to coincide with OIC Food Security Day 2025.
As noted by QazTrade, the OIC market brings together over 1.9 billion consumers. The cooperation focuses on the supply of grain, meat, dairy, oil and fat, and processed products. In addition to promoting supplies, the MOU envisages the development of projects in trade, processing, and logistics.
"The partnership with IOFS allows us to build a systematic approach to promoting Kazakhstani agricultural products to the markets of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation." "This is not only about expanding the geography of exports, but also about developing sustainable trade chains, processing, and logistics, which directly impacts food security and economic growth," said Aitmuhammed Aldazharov, CEO of QazTrade.
QazTrade notes that OIC countries remain a key area for diversifying Kazakhstan's exports and strengthening the country's position in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. Kazakhstan's agricultural exports from January to October 2025 increased by 37.9%, reaching $5.55 billion, compared to the same period last year.
