Due to the high relevance of the service and requests from farmers, the Agrarian Credit Corporation has officially extended the acceptance of applications for crop insurance against excess soil moisture until July 15, 2026, reports APK News.
The Association of Flax Producers draws the attention of farmers to the fact that last season clearly showed: prolonged rains during harvesting can destroy a year's work of farmers in a matter of days. For oilseeds, especially flax, excess moisture in August and September is a critical risk, leading to seed shedding, rotting and loss of commercial quality.
Farmers have very little time left to protect their business on the most favorable terms.
What does the insurance cover and when is it valid?
The program is aimed at protecting the crop during its most vulnerable period - during harvesting.
Insurance coverage period: from August 15 to October 14, 2026.
What the system detects: excess moisture in the soil, which makes it impossible for equipment to enter the field or leads to damage to the ripening crop.
Where it works: insurance is relevant for all key grain-growing and oilseed regions of Kazakhstan. Particular emphasis is placed on the North Kazakhstan, Kostanay and Akmola regions, where the risks of autumn rains are traditionally the highest.
“Flax is extremely sensitive to moisture during the ripening stage. Waterlogging of the soil and air during this period not only slows down harvesting, but also sharply reduces the oil content and quality of seeds for export. This insurance product is a real tool for managing this risk,” the Association concluded.
