The rate of warming in Kazakhstan is higher than the global average. 09.07.2026 в 13:33 56 просмотров

Long-term observations show a consistent trend of rising air temperatures in Kazakhstan. Since 1976, the average annual air temperature has increased by approximately 0.4°C every 10 years, meaning the rate of warming in Kazakhstan exceeds the global average, according to Kazhydromet.

"The most intense temperature increase is observed in the spring, when the warming rate is approximately 0.7°C per decade, reaching 0.9°C in some regions.

Recent years have confirmed the continuation of this trend. 2025 was the warmest year in the entire history of instrumental meteorological observations in Kazakhstan. The average annual air temperature anomaly relative to the climate norm was approximately +2.9°C," forecasters report.

According to Kazhydromet, nine of the ten warmest years on record in Kazakhstan occurred in the 21st century.

Kazhydromet also emphasized that, in accordance with World Meteorological Organization (WMO) recommendations, climate change is assessed based on 30-year observation series. This approach allows for the identification of long-term climate trends and distinguishes them from natural interannual variability.

It was previously reported that Kazakhstan has been allocated $229 million to combat climate change.
