The Food Corporation plans to provide farmers with 65.7 billion tenge in financing after the execution of forward contracts and final payments for the delivered harvest. In the first half of the year alone, the national operator transferred 51.6 billion tenge to farm accounts, the corporation's press service reported.
In addition to financing farmers, the forward program stimulates the production of high-margin crops.
"While forward contracts were signed with farmers in 2025 for the supply of 36,000 tons of sunflower, oilseed flax, and rapeseed, in 2026 this figure has almost tripled to 94,900 tons. Under the terms of the contracts, farmers plan to ship 37,800 tons of sunflower seeds, 51,500 tons of oilseed flax, and 5,600 tons of rapeseed after the harvest," the Food Corporation reported.
The company noted that a significant portion of its funding comes from its own working capital. Over the past two years, the state has allocated funds to replenish the authorized capital of the national grain operator, and these funds now operate on a revolving principle.
"The state investments previously used to build up the Food Corporation's capital continue to be effective. After contracts are fulfilled and agricultural products are sold, the funds are returned to circulation and once again used to finance agricultural producers. This mechanism allows us to annually support farmers and expand funding without additional burden on the budget," said Asylkhan Dzhuvashev, Chairman of the Board of the Food Corporation.
The company also noted that this season, as part of the direct procurement program for agricultural products, farms sold 191,800 tons of grain and oilseeds to the Food Corporation, double the amount sold last year (92,900 tons). Farmers in grain-growing regions traditionally demonstrated the greatest activity. In total, the national operator received orders for the supply of wheat, barley, sunflower, and flaxseed from 257 agricultural producers. The national grain operator transferred 20.3 billion tenge to farmers under direct procurement agreements.
Another 172 agricultural enterprises participated in the forward financing program for spring field work, signing contracts for the supply of 471,000 tons of grain and oilseed products. Farms in the Akmola, North Kazakhstan, and Kostanay regions committed to supplying the Food Corporation with primarily third-class wheat, while farmers in the Pavlodar and East Kazakhstan regions committed to supplying sunflower seeds. The national operator allocated 31.3 billion tenge in advance payments to agricultural producers this spring. Including additional payments after the harvest, the financing volume will exceed 40 billion tenge.
