Kazakhstan continues to accelerate the modernization of its machinery and tractor fleet, according to the APK News agency.

"The Ministry of Agriculture is consistently expanding state support measures aimed at upgrading agricultural machinery and introducing modern technologies into production," the Ministry's press service reported.

One of the main instruments remains investment subsidies, providing reimbursement of 15% to 30% of the cost of purchased machinery, depending on its priority. Additionally, the state subsidizes interest rates on loans and leasing: up to 6% for priority types of machinery and up to 15% for others.

The preferential leasing program, which includes an interest rate of 5% per annum and a financing term of up to seven years, continues to be implemented. 250 billion tenge has been allocated for this mechanism for 2025. Thanks to these measures, the pace of machinery and tractor fleet renewal is increasing, reaching 6.5%.

According to KazAgroFinance JSC, agricultural producers purchased 10,500 units of equipment worth 228.5 billion tenge in 2024, a 37% increase compared to the previous year. Demand for self-propelled equipment increased particularly, with 4,729 tractors (up 66%) and 924 combine harvesters (up 80% compared to 2023).

As of November 1, 2025, 10,072 units of equipment were leased for 255 billion tenge, a 10% increase compared to the same period last year.

Overall, Kazakhstani farms purchased 25,000 units of agricultural machinery in 2025, reflecting steady growth in demand and the effectiveness of government support.

Government incentive programs have a significant multiplier effect on the development of the domestic agricultural machinery industry.

Kazakhstan has 10 factories producing self-propelled equipment, including tractors, combines, sprayers, and a wide range of agricultural equipment. Kazakhstan is also an assembly site for equipment from leading global brands, including John Deere and CLAAS. As a result, domestic manufacturers meet approximately 90% of the domestic market's demand for tractors and combines, which contributes to the industry's technological independence and strengthens the country's food security.
