
Kazakhstan's grain and flour exports increased by 35.2% in January-May, reaching 11.8 million tons. At the same time, the export of 9 million tons of grain was the maximum in the last 13 years. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin at a government meeting.
The main directions of grain and flour exports this year were Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran, and Azerbaijan. At the same time, Serik Zhumangarin noted that transport and trade services have grown this year largely due to the increase in grain transportation volumes.
In general, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, Kazakhstan's foreign trade turnover for five months amounted to $53.5 billion. Exports amounted to $29.8 billion, including exports of processed goods - $10.2 billion. Imports of goods amounted to $23.8 billion.
In the manufacturing industry, production volume increased by 5.5%. The growth was achieved due to an increase in production in mechanical engineering by 11.1%, food products by 10%, oil refining by 9.6%, metal products by 14.6%, construction materials by 8.6% and chemical products by 7%, Serik Zhumangarin reported.
