Abnormal excess moisture is predicted in the grain belt of Kazakhstan during the harvesting period 02.07.2025 в 10:27 8 просмотров

A repeat of the 2023 situation, when there were heavy rains during the harvesting season, is expected in Kazakhstan in the 2025 season. According to the forecast of the Agricultural Insurance Association, the first phase for grain crops was characterized by extreme drought, and in the future, abnormal excess moisture is also expected in the regions, as was observed two years ago.

“The first phase for grain crops ended on June 14. Based on the results, we concluded that severe drought prevailed in a number of regions. It covered over 400 hectares. If we talk about oilseeds, the first phase will end on July 14. We do not have data on oilseeds yet,” a representative of the Association told us.

There are three phases. The result for grain crops of the second phase will be on July 14, the third phase - on August 14. The result for oilseeds of the first phase will be on July 14.

Meanwhile, the Association predicted the further climatic character.

"We made a forecast for excess moisture - this is an abnormal excess. We had a similar situation in 2023. Then there was both drought and over-moistening. In 2025, we predict that the same thing will happen. That is, there will be drought in certain regions, and certain regions will be flooded and there will be excess moisture. The results for excess moisture will be in the fall. At the moment, we are accepting applications, but insurance coverage is for the fall," our interlocutor said.

"The forecast that we made for excess moisture is already in progress. Now we already have an excess, for example, we looked at the forecast until July 5, it exceeds 68 millimeters of permissible precipitation. Regions - North Kazakhstan region, Pavlodar covers, Kostanay covers, and Akmola region," the Association also noted.
