The progress of the harvest campaign was reviewed at a meeting chaired by Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov. Heads of financial institutions, departments of the Ministry of Agriculture, and deputy regional akims participated.
Vice Minister of Agriculture Azat Sultanov reported that, according to current data from regional akimats, the winter crop harvest is almost complete. The average yield is 19.1 centners per hectare. 1.3 million tons of grain have been harvested, including 890,400 tons of wheat.
The harvest of vegetables and melons continues. To date, 339,000 tons of vegetables and 140,000 tons of melons have been harvested.
According to regional data, 99% of grain and oilseed crops are in good or satisfactory condition.
To ensure the uninterrupted reception of the new harvest, the Ministry, in conjunction with regional akimats and JSC NC Food Contract Corporation, is working to free up elevator capacity.
According to the Qoldau.kz portal, the occupancy rate of licensed grain storage facilities is 2.4 million tons, with unused storage capacity reaching 10.8 million tons, allowing for the uninterrupted reception of the new harvest.
The Ministry of Energy has allocated 401,000 tons of discounted diesel fuel. 1.9 million tons of mineral fertilizers have been shipped.
The Minister emphasized that the progress of the harvest is being constantly monitored, as its timely and high-quality completion directly impacts the sustainability of the agricultural sector, the industry's economic performance, and the country's food security.
Following the meeting, the head of the department instructed akimats to ensure strict oversight of the timely delivery of fuel and lubricants, the readiness of agricultural machinery, grain drying complexes, elevators, and warehouses, and to organize daily monitoring of harvesting operations and promptly resolve any issues that arise.
"For the second year in a row, at the instruction of the Head of State, farmers have been provided with unprecedented state support measures for spring sowing and harvesting. 750 billion tenge have been allocated under preferential lending, of which over 641 billion tenge have been utilized to date. This early financing allowed agricultural producers to prepare for the sowing and harvesting seasons in a timely manner. Today, our key task is to ensure high-quality harvesting and complete it within the optimal timeframe," noted Aidarbek Saparov.
