Forecasters in Kazakhstan are predicting a hot summer with moderate precipitation.
According to the Kazhydromet advisory forecast, average monthly temperatures in June are expected to be 1-2°C above normal across most of the country. In the eastern regions and the extreme northwest, temperatures are expected to be near normal.
The average temperature will be 18-23°C across most of Kazakhstan, 24-28°C in the southwestern half of the country, and 7-17°C in the mountainous regions of the southeast and east.
Daytime temperatures are expected to range from 30-38°C to 15-20°C. In the southern half of the country, temperatures could reach 40-45°C on some days.
Hot days will alternate with cool weather with torrential rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls. In the first ten days of June, frosts are possible during the night and morning hours in the north and east of the country, as well as in the mountainous regions of the southeast.
According to forecasters, July is expected to be moderately hot, with temperatures within normal limits: 18-24°C across most of the country, 25-30°C in the southern half of Kazakhstan, and 9-17°C in the mountainous regions of the southeast and east of the country.
August is expected to be hot across almost all of Kazakhstan. Temperatures are expected to be 1-2°C above normal, with only the southeast nearing normal. Average temperatures will be 20-28°C across most of the country, 16-19°C in the northeastern half, and 11-15°C in the mountainous regions of the east and southeast.
According to forecasters, moderate precipitation is expected across most of Kazakhstan this summer.
Below-normal precipitation is forecast:
- in June – in the southwest, as well as in certain areas of the north and center of the country;
- in July – in the west, southwest, south, and southeast of the country;
- in August – in the southwest, central Kazakhstan, and certain areas of the south and east.
