The Food Corporation continues to accept grain and oilseed crops for the 2024-2025 harvest under the direct procurement program. Applications are being processed on a priority basis: suppliers can expect expedited processing and prompt financing, allowing farmers to prepare for spring fieldwork in a timely manner. This was announced by the Food Corporation's press service.
The national company noted that the list of crops purchased has been expanded in 2026. In addition to wheat and barley, sunflower, oilseed flax, and buckwheat are also being purchased.
As of February 16, farmers have shipped 114,000 tons of grain products to the Food Corporation's resources. The largest volume was purchased from farms in the Akmola Region (43,700 tons), the North Kazakhstan Region (40,000 tons), and the Kostanay Region (24,200 tons).
"The direct procurement program is being implemented to replenish the state grain reserve and build up a feed fund. The Food Corporation manages approximately 2 million tons of state and commercial grain annually, of which 500,000 tons are in the state reserve and 200,000 tons are in the feed fund. Maintaining these reserves helps smooth out seasonal and price fluctuations, prevent shortages in the domestic market, and ensure a stable supply of raw materials for the production of socially important food products," the Food Corporation emphasized.
The direct procurement mechanism ensures guaranteed sales of agricultural products at fair prices and eliminates intermediaries from the producer-buyer chain.
Applications for participation in the program are accepted by the Food Corporation's regional offices.
