The grain market is sluggish, and price disparities are widening. 21.04.2026 в 15:02 10 просмотров

The Kazakhstan Grain Union presented a weekly review of the grain market price situation in Kazakhstan from April 13 to 19, according to APK News.

"The domestic market did not show increased activity last week. The main reason was the renewed strengthening of the tenge against the US dollar and euro," said Yevgeny Karabanov, chief analyst at the Union.

Meanwhile, the market was supported by the additional accreditation of 19 companies supplying feed meal to China. This brings the total number of accredited producers of wheat-barley feed mixture (the new name for feed meal) to 46 companies. The documents for another 50 companies are pending review in China.

The Food Corporation's announcement of direct purchases of wheat and barley for the 2024-2025 harvest also boosted confidence in the domestic market.

Yevgeny Karabanov noted that prices for some wheat products remained unchanged last week.

Grain export shipments remain slow. Due to the continued strengthening of the tenge, the disparity between domestic and export prices is widening. Exporters are reluctant to enter into new deals.

Export prices for most wheat remain unchanged. Export bid prices for barley remained unchanged across the board.

"Due to the continued strengthening of the tenge, activity in the domestic market is low. The Food Corporation's announcement provided support for the domestic market. However, the disparity between domestic and export prices continues to widen. Grain shipments continue to decline, both for the reasons outlined above and due to seasonal factors," concluded E. Karabanov.

According to the Analytics Committee of the Grain Union of Kazakhstan, EXW elevator prices, in thousands of tenge per ton, including 16% VAT, were as follows:
