Drought insurance for crops has begun in Kazakhstan.

Applications for subsidizing a portion of insurance premiums for voluntary agricultural risk insurance contracts are now open. Farmers can submit applications through the online agricultural insurance information system on the Kezekte.kz platform. This was reported by the press service of the Agricultural Credit Corporation.
Under the voluntary insurance system, agricultural producers can insure:
- spring crops against drought,
- perennial plantings (apple trees);
- apple harvest;
- farm animals (cattle, sheep and goats, horses, pigs), and poultry.
- "Moreover, 80% of the insurance premium is subsidized by the state, and only 20% is paid by the agricultural producer," the ACC clarified.
Application deadlines for drought insurance policies on non-irrigated land (Phases 2 and 3):
- For Akmola, Aktobe, Atyrau, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan, Abay, and Ulytau regions: grains – until April 1, 2026; oilseeds – until April 15, 2026.
- For Almaty, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Mangystau, Turkestan, and Zhetysu regions: grains and oilseeds – until February 27, 2026 (inclusive).
Application deadlines for perennial planting and apple crop insurance:
- perennial planting (apple tree) insurance – until October 31, 2026;
- apple crop insurance – until March 1, 2026.
