On December 1, the national company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) introduced new restrictions on the acceptance of freight for transportation, according to APK News.
This information was reported by Yevgeny Karabanov, a representative of the Kazakhstan Grain Union. He noted that the National Company issued several orders dated December 1, which state:
"In order to stabilize the train situation and prevent disruptions to the transportation of socially important freight, pursuant to the decision of the operational headquarters of JSC NC KTZ dated December 1, 2025, due to the large backlog of cars and the untimely acceptance of trains by neighboring railways in the direction of the Saryagash Interstate Railway Station (IGSS), which exceeds the standard capacity of more than 5,000 cars and leads to congestion and the delay of trains, guided by the rights of paragraph 2 of Article 35 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Railway Transport"...
Prohibit the acceptance for transportation of all cargo, except perishable goods (vegetables), destined for all stations in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Kyrgyzstan via the Saryagash Interstate Railway Station from December 2 to December 10, 2025."
"...and Also, based on the request of the Almaty branch of JSC KTZ-Freight Transportation, dated December 1, 2025, due to the accumulation of railcars on the network of JSC NC KTZ, the assignment of more than 6,500 railcars to stations of the Almaty branch of the GP, including 950 grain railcars, which exceeds the standard railcar capacity of more than 1,500 railcars...
Prohibit the acceptance for transportation of grain cargo (wheat, barley, buckwheat, legumes), milled products (bran, feed flour), and compound feed from all KTZ stations destined for Aksenger, Burundai, Baiserke, Zhetysu, Zhetygen, and Kapchagay stations to all recipients (except for Alel Agro LLC and Agrofit LLC at Kapchagay station) from December 2 to December 11, 2025, inclusive..."
"...in Due to the unstable reception of China Railways container trains carrying grain cargo through the Altynkol border crossing and the presence of more than 175 container trains in operation, which exceeds the standard capacity by more than 120 trains, including 23 temporarily suspended trains...
Prohibit the acceptance for transportation and rerouting of grain cargo in container trains destined for China through the Altynkol border crossing from December 2 to 10, 2025...
"If the situation returns to normal, these restrictions will be lifted," the telegram states.
