Kazakhstan has harvested 20.3 million tons of wheat. 04.11.2025 в 15:19 10 просмотров

The grain harvest has been completed in Kazakhstan. A bumper harvest of 27.1 million tons was collected, with the average yield this year reaching 17 centners per hectare (compared to 16.2 centners per hectare in 2024). Of this total, 20.3 million tons of wheat were harvested, with a yield of 16.6 centners per hectare. This is 0.5 million more than the previous year, although wheat plantings were reduced by almost 900,000 hectares as part of crop diversification. This year's legume and oilseed harvest is also a record, as announced by Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov at a government meeting.

The Minister of Agriculture emphasized that the significant increase in wheat production indicates the increased use of agricultural technology.

According to the ministry, approximately 4 million tons of barley have been harvested this year (same as last year). The legume harvest reached 1 million tons for the first time.

"A record oilseed harvest of 4.3 million tons has already been collected, and the oilseed harvest is still ongoing," said Aidarbek Saparov.

The country has also harvested 2.9 million tons of potatoes, 3.8 million tons of vegetables, and 2.6 million tons of melons.

The cotton harvest is complete. With an average yield of almost 30 centners per hectare, 428,000 tons of raw cotton were harvested, or 42% more than last year. Thanks to the introduction of modern cultivation technologies, including drip irrigation, some farms yielded up to 50 centners per hectare.

"Farmers' adherence to agricultural practices was primarily facilitated by government support measures in the form of early preferential lending, the volume of which reached 1 trillion tenge for the first time this year. At the end of the growing season, 1.8 million tons of mineral fertilizers were applied for the first time, or 56% of the scientifically based requirement. The share of elite seeds increased from 9.5% to 11.5%, with the planned 10.5%," the minister noted.
