October, which began with a cold snap, will offer warm days in the middle of the first and second ten-day period, but by the end of the month, it will once again remind us of the approaching winter. Unstable weather, fog, ice, and gusty winds are forecast throughout the month, with snowstorms possible in the north of the country in the second half of the month, according to Kazhydromet.
"In early October, nighttime temperatures across most of Kazakhstan will be -1 to -6°C, and daytime temperatures of -2 to -9°C. However, by the middle of the first ten-day period, with the influx of warm air masses from Central Asia and the eastern Mediterranean coast, an increase in nighttime and daytime temperatures is expected," forecasters reported.
Air temperatures will be:
- In the west of the country, nighttime highs will reach +7 to +12°C, and daytime highs of +17 to +25°C;
- in the north and east of the country, nighttime highs will reach +2 to +8°C, and daytime highs of +10 to +18°C;
- In the center of the republic, nighttime temperatures will reach +2°C to +7°C, and daytime temperatures will reach +15°C to +23°C;
- In the south and southeast, nighttime temperatures will reach +5°C to +12°C, and daytime temperatures will reach +20°C to +28°C.
At the end of the ten-day period, a slight drop in air temperatures is expected in the northwestern half of Kazakhstan. In the southern half and in the east of the country, this cold wave will occur at the beginning of the second ten-day period.
In the second ten-day period, warming is expected again across most of the country, with daytime temperatures reaching +13°C to +18°C, and +22°C to +27°C in the south and southeast.
In the third ten-day period, lower temperatures are expected. On some days, nighttime temperatures are expected to drop to -1°C to +6°C, while in the northern, central, and eastern regions of Kazakhstan, temperatures will reach -7°C to +12°C, and daytime temperatures will reach +0°C to +8°C. In the southern half of the country, temperatures are expected to fluctuate at night from -1-6°C to +3+8°C, and during the day from +5+13°C to +13+20°C.
