Kazakhstan plans to harvest 21.7 million tons of grain 15.09.2025 в 14:30 13 просмотров

The grain harvest in Kazakhstan this year is forecast at 21.7 million tons, which is less than the record harvest of 2024 of 24.6 million tons. The wheat harvest is expected at 16.2 million tons (in 2024 - 18.6 million tons). This was reported by the head of the Analytics Committee of the Grain Union of Kazakhstan, Yevgeny Karabanov.

Yevgeny Karabanov presented preliminary forecasts for the 2025 harvest at the Grain of Siberia forum held in Barnaul.

The Grain Union forecasts the oilseed harvest at 4.2 million tons, which is higher than last year's harvest of 3.3 million tons. Including the expected sunflower harvest of 2.1 million tons (1.8 million tons), flax seeds - 1 million tons (0.76 million tons). The legume harvest is forecast to be 1 million tons (0.6 million tons). "The decrease in grain crop yield is due to a decrease in wheat sowing (- 6.1% year-on-year) as part of the diversification program with an increase in the sowing area of marginal crops in 2025 - legumes (1.6 times) and oilseeds (+ 46%)," explained Evgeniy Karabanov.

The total harvest of grain, legumes and oilseeds in Kazakhstan is forecast to be 27.1 million tons, which is only 1.4 million tons (-5%) less than in 2024.

At the same time, Evgeniy Karabanov noted that the quality of the harvested wheat is currently below expectations due to cool and rainy weather in August, during the period of grain ripening and filling. In the structure of the harvested crop, food wheat of classes 1-4 makes up more than 75%, which is more than enough to ensure food security for the country.
