In the Republic of Kazakhstan, grain elevators are actively preparing to receive the current season's harvest, the APK News agency reports.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the total capacity of grain storage facilities reaches 30.9 million tons, including 13.5 million tons of capacity of licensed enterprises and 17.4 million tons of storage facilities owned directly by agricultural producers.
According to the Qoldau.kz information system, at present, the occupancy rate of licensed grain storage facilities is 2.3 million tons (17%), and the free volume is about 11 million tons.
“These capacities are sufficient to receive the new harvest, taking into account the carry-over balances of previous years,” the department noted.
As reported, the Grain Union made a forecast for the grain harvest. This season it will amount to 15-15.5 million tons.
Earlier, the antimonopoly authority monitored grain receiving enterprises in Northern Kazakhstan and ordered a price reduction.
