This marketing year, Kazakhstan plans to export about 580 thousand tons of durum wheat. Italy will remain the main consumer of durum, the APK News agency reports.
The International Conference "Astyk 2025" has ended in Kostanay Region, where participants discussed key trends and recent events in the international and domestic grain and oilseed markets. The head of the Analytics Committee of the Grain Union of Kazakhstan, Yevgeny Karabanov, said at the meeting that in the current season (2024/25 MY), Kazakhstan will export twice as much durum wheat as in the last marketing year, when 355 thousand tons were shipped.
Thus, Kazakhstan will achieve the second best result after the historical record of the 2022/23 season, when the country supplied 646 thousand tons of durum wheat to the world market, the expert emphasized.
At the same time, Italy remains the main consumer, where approximately 400 thousand tons of grain have already been shipped in the first ten months of the current season. It is reported that 317 thousand tons were exported during the same period last season.
