The grain market of Kazakhstan is beginning to determine the cost of grain of the new harvest. At the moment, the trend towards price formation is at the level of 90-100 thousand tenge per ton, the APK News agency reports.
“A new season will begin in Kazakhstan very soon. Kazakh farmers have begun, or rather, are already actively threshing winter crops. The harvest of early crops will soon begin: peas, barley, and so on. And such an interesting fermentation is slowly beginning, the market is beginning to form a price, and so far we see a trend towards price formation in the range we predict, that is, 90-100 tenge per kilogram of ordinary wheat. This, as it seems now, is a fairly fair price, because the fate of the main grain is still far from clear,” said Viktor Aslanov, Chairman of the Union of Field Growers of Kazakhstan.
According to him, the situation in the fields in Kazakhstan is quite varied.
“Some areas turned out to be over-moistened, and there is a high risk of disease there. More precisely, this risk has already happened. Somewhere we got a good drought. In particular, the south was very badly burned - all three regions. For us, for producers, this is a kind of margin call, because the south will come to us for fodder. Our own need for fodder wheat and in general for any fodder will be very high," noted V. Aslanov.
In addition, Kazakhstan is also monitoring what is happening with its southern partners, the main one being Uzbekistan, where half of the country was exposed to powerful radiation with a powerful deficit of precipitation. And, on the contrary, irrigated lands near the Caspian Sea, they were also well moistened with precipitation. That is, the situation there is not completely clear.
Therefore, the analyst said, for now we are moving towards such an average scenario. But there is still autumn ahead, which can bring enough surprises.
"My constant advice: let's not rush, and let's carefully consider all factors," concluded V. Aslanov.
As reported, last week, Kazakh grain began to fall in price.
