"According to preliminary calculations of the standardized precipitation index, moderately dry conditions are predicted in August in some areas in the west, northwest, center, southeast, east and south.
Moderately wet conditions are expected in some areas of the northern regions," the forecast says.
This year, dry conditions are due to the prevalence of stable anticyclonic circulation regimes, leading to long periods of cloudless weather and the absence of significant precipitation, which contributed to the intensification of drought phenomena in a number of regions.
The southern regions of Kazakhstan are characterized by high aridity in the summer, so the growth and development of agricultural crops in these regions largely depends on irrigation.
According to the weather forecast, the amount of precipitation in August is expected to be near normal in most of the country.
More than normal - in Pavlodar region, most of North Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan regions, Abay region, in the north of Kostanay, in the northeast of Akmola region, in the extreme northeast of Karaganda region.
