Over the first 6 months of 2025, the volume of transshipment through the seaports of Kazakhstan amounted to 4.5 million tons of cargo, an increase of 25% compared to the same period in 2024. This became known during a meeting at the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dedicated to plans for the development of the maritime industry.
In particular, positive dynamics were noted in the production indicators of the port of Aktau, as well as cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, including container transportation, based on the results of the first 6 months of 2025.
The progress of the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan for the Development of Maritime Infrastructure, approved in pursuance of the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2024, was also separately reviewed.
Following the event, the Chairman of the Committee for Railway and Water Transport of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhanibek Taizhanov gave a number of instructions as part of strengthening work on the further development of the industry.
