Kazhydromet has updated its drought forecast for June. Moderately dry conditions are expected in 11 regions of Kazakhstan:

• in Kostanay region – in Amangeldy, Dzhangeldy districts;
• in Aktobe region – in Shalkar, Irgiz and Uil districts;
• in Atyrau region – in Kurmangazin and Makhambet districts, as well as in the vicinity of Atyrau and Kulsary;
• in Karaganda region – in Aktogay, Karkaraly and Shet districts;
• in Ulytau region – in Ulytau and Zhanaarka districts;
• in Abay region – in Ayagoz district;
• in Almaty region – in Balkhash and Zhambyl districts;
• in Zhetysu region – partially in Alakol district;
• in Zhambyl region - in Moiynkum, Kordai, T. Ryskulovsky, Merken, Sarysu and Talas districts;
• in Turkestan region - in Suzak, Kazygurt, Otyrar, Tolebi, Shardara, Saryagash, Zhetysay and Tyulkubas districts and in Shymkent;
• in Kyzylorda region - in Kazaly, Karmakshinsky, Shiili districts and in Kyzylorda, also partially in Aral district.

At the same time, June rains against the background of precipitation accumulated in May will create moderately humid conditions in certain regions in the north of the country:

• in North Kazakhstan region - in Zhambyl, Timiryazevsky, Shalakynsky, Yesil districts and in G. Musrepov district;
• in Kostanay region – Uzunkol, Karabalyk and Mendygara districts;
• in Akmola region – in Yegindykol district.

In the rest of the country, moisture conditions are expected to be close to normal, Kazhydromet reports.
