
In Kazakhstan, as of May 20, agricultural crops have been sown on an area of 7,376.9 thousand hectares. Spring field work is proceeding according to schedule, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reported.
In Akmola region, 1,599.3 thousand hectares have been sown, North Kazakhstan - 1,013.5 thousand hectares, Kostanay - 745.3 thousand hectares, Pavlodar - 610 thousand hectares, Karaganda - 548.1 thousand hectares.
The structure of crops by crops: grains - 4,645.9 thousand hectares, oilseeds - 1,658.5 thousand hectares, forage - 475.5 thousand hectares, vegetables - 101.7 thousand hectares, potatoes - 77.4 thousand hectares, melons - 78.9 thousand hectares, cotton - 141.2 thousand hectares, sugar beets - 17.7 thousand hectares, rice - 52.3 thousand hectares, etc.
This year, it is planned to apply mineral fertilizers in the amount of 1.9 million tons. As of May 20, contracts for the supply of 1 million tons have been concluded.
To carry out sowing, 2.3 million tons of seeds are needed, this need is completely covered. Of this volume, 1.9 million tons have undergone a full examination, of which 99% are recognized as compliant.
The Ministry of Agriculture stated that the department is constantly monitoring the availability of resources.
