Over 650 thousand tons of grain from Kazakhstan were shipped to Russian and Baltic ports in the first 8 months of the current season (September 2024 – April 2025). Container shipments on the China–Russia–China route increased by 30% in January–March and reached over 132 thousand TEU. This information was announced during the 15th meeting of the joint working group on strategic cooperation of JSC NC KTZ and JSC Russian Railways.

The parties discussed current issues of cooperation and summed up the results of their joint work.

An increase in container shipments via international railway junctions along the eastern route of the North–South International Transport Corridor was noted: in the first quarter of 2025, the volume increased by 63% and exceeded 1 thousand TEU.

The meeting participants noted the implementation of the Action Plan for the main areas of strategic cooperation for 2023–2024 and approved a new plan for 2025–2027.
