Kazakhstan Increases Sunflower Meal Supplies to EU 17.04.2025 в 16:01 61 просмотр

Kazakhstan is increasing its sunflower meal/cake supplies to the EU countries. This was announced by the Chairman of the National Association of Oilseed Processors (NOPA) Yadykar Ibragimov at the international conference “Baltic Grains & Oils Conference” in Riga.

He specified that over the 6 months of the current season, Kazakhstan exported 43.29 thousand tons of this product to the EU. This is 7% more than the same period last season.

At the same time, 85% of the volume of European exports went to Latvia (last season this figure was at the level of 98%).

“The total export of Kazakhstan's sunflower meal/cake over 6 months of 2024/25 MY increased by 21% and reached 205.4 thousand tons, the EU's share in the total volume of supplies also amounted to 21% (last season - 24%). The decrease in the EU share is due to the opening of the Chinese market, where Kazakhstani oil mills have been sending sunflower meal and cake since the end of 2023. The opening of new sales channels eliminates the risks of underpricing processed products and allows selling goods at fairly high prices. Therefore, sales diversification is one of the strategic tasks that NOPA is constantly working on,” noted Y. Ibragimov.

In monetary terms, the export of sunflower meal/cake from Kazakhstan for the specified period increased by 11%, to $37.27 million.

The export of Kazakhstani sunflower oil for 6 months of the current season increased even more significantly - by 35%, to 287.9 thousand tons (in monetary terms - by 57%, to $274.6 million).
