KTZ-Freight Transportation LLC has filed a new application to increase the maximum price for freight transportation services by rail and locomotive traction from May 19, 2025 by 35%, APK News reports with reference to information from the Association of Kazakhstan Freight Rail Carriers.
The main reasons for the need to increase tariffs for freight transportation services by rail (in terms of the locomotive component) are:
- increased labor costs;
- increased electricity costs;
- increased prices for fuel and lubricants;
- increased prices for technical and service maintenance of locomotives;
- increased interest payments on loans aimed at upgrading the locomotive fleet;
- included investments directed at the acquisition of new locomotives.
It was previously reported that KTZ plans to increase tariffs for MZhS services by an average of 48%. At the same time, the growth for grain transportation will be 66%.
