The Uzbekistan Railways Company announced a 40% tariff reduction for the transit of Kazakh grain to Afghanistan, through the Oasis junction to the Galaba station. This was reported by the press service of the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy National Company following negotiations between the management of the two companies in Astana.

According to KTZ, the heads of the railway companies discussed the development of cooperation in the field of transport and logistics. The parties also summed up the results of their joint work last year and outlined plans for 2025. In particular, it was noted that KTZ, by increasing the capacity of the Sary Agash junction to 50%, ensured the full implementation of all plans of shippers.

During the meeting, the parties also agreed to strengthen joint work on the development of the Trans-Afghan Corridor.

Earlier, KTZ reported that in the first half of the marketing year (from September 2024 to February 2025), export deliveries of Kazakh grain increased by 53% and reached 5.8 million tons. In particular, 3.2 million tons of grain (+33%) were sent to the countries of Central Asia, and 248 thousand tons (+36%) to Afghanistan.
