
Kazakh farmers reduce barley sown areas for the sixth year in a row

In the current season in Kazakhstan, the sown area of barley, compared to 2021, decreased by 0.1 thousand hectares, or 4.5% - to 2.1 million hectares.
It should be noted that according to the USDA forecast, the harvested area of barley will be 2.2 million hectares.
Recall that in 2021, the wedge of barley in the Republic of Kazakhstan y/y was cut by 18.5% - to 2.2 million hectares.
Thus, the reduction in sown areas occurs for six consecutive seasons.
