Wheat sown area in Kazakhstan remains at 10-year high - statistics

According to a preliminary estimate of the National Bureau of Statistics, in 2022, the sown area of agricultural crops in Kazakhstan amounted to 23.4 million hectares, which is 1.7% more than the previous year (23 million hectares in 2021).
Thus, the data announced by the department is 0.3 million hectares more than the estimate of the regional agricultural departments - 23.1 million hectares.
According to statisticians, 16.1 million hectares, or 68.8% of the total sown area, were sown with cereals (including rice) and legumes, that is, the grain wedge remained at last year's level.
