The harvest campaign is underway in Kazakhstan. Farmers have already harvested 81.5% of the area dedicated to grain and legume crops, gathering 18.6 million tonnes of grain with an average yield of 14.6 centners per hectare.
This year, the country's total sown area reached 24.2 million hectares, an increase of 600,000 hectares compared to last year. Of this total, 15.6 million hectares are planted with grain crops, 5.2 million hectares with oilseeds, and 3 million hectares with fodder crops. Cotton covers 173,600 hectares, and sugar beet accounts for 23,800 hectares.
To date, grain and legume crops have been harvested from 12.7 million hectares of the total sown area.
A key indicator of the harvest campaign is not only the volume of grain collected but also its quality.
Licensed grain receiving facilities have already received 4.9 million tonnes of grain from the new harvest. This is a 20% increase over the same period last year, when 4.1 million tonnes were received.
Third-class grain accounts for the largest share at 74%. Fourth-class grain makes up another 20%, while fifth-class grain accounts for 6%.
High figures are also noted regarding gluten content. Gluten levels exceeding 28% were found in 48% of the soft wheat samples tested. Another 25% of samples showed levels between 25% and 27%, while 27% fell within the 23–24% range.
At the same time, farmers are accelerating the pace of the oilseed harvest. To date, 2.2 million hectares have been harvested, yielding 2.2 million tonnes of oilseeds.
Harvesting of other agricultural crops is also underway. A total of 2.9 million tonnes of vegetables, 2.5 million tonnes of potatoes, and 2.3 million tonnes of melons and gourds have already been gathered.
A substantial fleet of agricultural machinery is being deployed across the regions for the harvest campaign, comprising 130,000 tractors, 29,000 grain harvesters, 17,000 reapers, and 130,000 other pieces of equipment.
Efforts to supply agricultural producers with mineral fertilizers are continuing.
A target of 2.3 million tonnes for fertilizer application has been set for 2026. According to preliminary data from regional administrations (akimats), contracts for the delivery of 2.1 million tonnes—representing 90% of the planned volume—have already been concluded.
The Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with regional administrations, continues to monitor the pace of the harvest, the quality of the new crop, and the availability of necessary material and technical resources for farmers.
